Losing Weight Fast and Healthy

Hi Everyone,

Losing weight fast and healthy is a weight loss myth.  Of course, “fast” may mean different things to different people.  For example, when I lost my initial 120 pounds it took me 13 months from August of 2004 to September 17, 2005.  Was that fast for me?  Yes, compared to the almost thousand pounds I lost in 30 years of my lifetime, 13 months was fast! 

Many people can lose weight fast but it is usually at the expense of their body.  It is a simple fact that we cannot change the science of weight loss-calories in must be less than calories out and extra calories out must equal 3500 to lose one pound. 

Depending on our resting metabolic rate, the amount of activity we do in a day and the calories we take in, losing weight fast may be difficult while losing weight healthy can be easily achieved through small lifestyle changes that will last forever.

While many people may think that reaching that perfect rate is the end of the journey, the truth is that life just began for me when I achieved my weight loss goal.  Not only did I have a feeling of self-confidence I had never felt before but opportunities continue to open up for me as I maintain my over 140 pound weight loss.

The weight loss experience taught me that losing weight fast and healthy is not as important as keeping the weight off and staying healthy.
